A Poem by .:Arianna:.

I ask my hope
'Why are you blind?
Who did it to you,
who?'

She merely stares back blankly
points a finger
and says
'you'

'It was not me', I shake my head,
'You are wrong, that cannot be,
why would I sabotage myself?
What gain is there for me?'

'Desire is a wicked thing,
you always want that star
that you can't grasp when you reach out,
and love it from afar.
It's your desire that I blame,
she keeps you up in fright,
and yet without her you will die,
for in his stead,
she keeps you warm at night'

She said, and I said nothing more.

An incredible piece of writing. There is so much depth and feeling to this. My only complaint would be that it is too short. I wanted more of this wonderful poem. I am impressed.

I absolutely love the way you wrote this - having a conversation with your hopeful self! What a fantastic idea and I loved the flow to it - really well done - I just hope He comes back or another He eventually keeps you warm at night - well done :)
