Beyond a Soul

Inspired by the best video game ever. For a heart close to mine.

A knot in the stomach,

a hole in the heart,

is missing a loved one

what sets us apart?

To love without boundaries,

it is fair to say,

it makes us beguiled

in so many ways.

If love is forever,

but life is too short,

can anyone run

from the pain loss escorts?

Loss breaks every spirit,

it crushes strong souls,

it bleeds us from inside,

makes halves out of wholes.

But just how objective

are facts such as 'loss',

if you pick up a stone

and in the water it's tossed,

it will plunge into darkness

and it will disappear

you can't see the stone

but it's still very near!

The eyes are imperfect,

they fail to see

what lies beyond souls

in the unconscious sea.

Lo-ss can't be torn

from the words love and miss

It's part of our being,

a step closer to bliss.

even if it is a lover or a dear and close family member
or a friend you lost.

ive tried the running to no avail.. at this point its not even pain anymore its just a reminder that i am alive and that i can feel. thank you for gifting that to me so many times over the years. I love your ending. I guess with some, we are forever in loss with them.. :)
