A Broken Angle

A Broken Angle

A Poem by .:Arianna:.

You will have to weep
much more
and for much longer,
in order to teach the world
how to smile.

Even for a while...

From unopened windows,
you shall need to gaze
and stronger
will your grip of the stars
become.

The sum
of all longing,
heavy, in your  left pocket.

The entire world
at your feet,
unexplored
and restless,
like a mistress,
waiting for your
secret letter.

For worse or better,
You cannot weep enough.
This world is falling down
in all its beauty,
all its grace,
like a dancer
with a broken ankle.

So perfectly fragile,
so wanting...

Your world is delicate
and fresh,
it has double the life to lead
into whichever path they push her.

Attempt to twist
and bend your angle,
maybe then the music
will sound right.
Maybe then you shall sleep
careless,
every night.

I like this poem, due to its interesting view of things and analogies. Putting that aside, I feel as if the second stanza, or really, the line, seems a bit strange, appearing to be floating since nothing of the kind shows up in the poem later on. There is really no consistent size to the stanzas, which I suggest incorporating. Anyhow, beautiful and elegant poem. :)
