REMEMBERA Poem by shadowtigersSometimes hearts remember what minds do not.I remember you From when our eyes first met For what should have been The first time I spoke long sentences Volumes of words I held so deep Within my heart But yet my lips Never said More than a smile Your soul called to me In images of dreams Telling me to remember Long ago the place That neither my flesh Nor mind could ever reach But where my spirit Roamed free I remembered you In that moment Under the cold gray sky Your blond hair Rain soaked Brushing your lips As you spoke to me Giving apologies That you did not have to speak Nor were they mine to take So many things I wanted to say In that eternal second That slipped by Between our hands Like a grain of sand That returned us To our roles as strangers On that frozen morning I still remember you The way you looked Back into my eyes Wondering if I felt The same chasm Around us growing wider With each step you took I felt all the dreams Slip away As the light around us Pushed back our souls Once again into our flesh where we were Trapped and speechless I saw you turn Disappear into the fog and rain Calling to me saying words I could no longer hear And I felt myself slip away As you left Longing for the time again When I could Look deep within your eyes And smile © 2013 shadowtigersAuthor's Note
