Driven

Driven

A Poem by shadowtigers

Hands tight on the wheel

Four spinning tires
And just you and me
The road our reason
The night our guide
We let all pasts
Fade in the rear-view
The smell of asphalt
And burning rubber
Drowns out the salt of the sea
The landscape
Frozen shadows
That dance in the twilight
Accelerating into spirals
That draws us in
It is for this I am driven
Just one single moment
Where nothing else matters
With you as the passenger
Right here next to me
For tonight
We are flying
Without any wings

I like the balance you have in your pieces. Although there's negativity you're holding onto those moments of freedom and hope. I like it =)
