11: Andrew's Sick Days

Andrew is placed under suspicion by the Student Council when people claim he for the cause of sickness throughout Lakeside High and must undergo a trial to prove not being guilty.

Andrew’s House: Living Room- September

Tom: So anyway, the doctor gives the cat the shot then leaves the room for a minute. When he comes back…

Andrew sneezes.

Tom: Bless you. Are you ok? You know its September, in California, and you’re sneezing.

Andrew: Yeah I’m ok.

Tom: Ok. So when the doctor comes back he sees the office is a mess and Drake’s cat…

Daisy’s Car:- October Night

Drake: So Tommy’s mom lets me and Stella in and we go into Tommy’s room while he is still asleep. Stella gets into bed with Tommy and whispers something into his ear and Tommy jumps out of bed frightened.

Andrew, Michael, Marie, Dakota and Daisy laugh.

Tom: You done embarrassing me yet?

Dakota: No don’t stop, keep going.

Daisy: Why not? It gets better from there.

Tom: You too mom? You know…

Andrew sneezes.

Drake: Bless you. Hey are you ok?

Andrew: I’m alright.

Lakeside High: Entrance- Present Day November

Andrew sneezes.

Tom(question): Andy are you really ok? Cause there hasn’t been a day that I’ve known you that you haven’t sneezed.

Marie: Don’t bother asking that question.

Tom: Why not?

Michael W.: Like trouble follows you, a cold follows Andy.

Tom: A cold? What makes you say that?

Michael W.(whisper to Tom): Well you didn’t hear it from me but Andy’s family always travels to different parts to the planet and they say those parts are inhabited by a disease that can only be found there.

Tom: Who would start something like that about Andy?

Marie thumps Michael on the back of the head. 

Michael W.: Ouch

Marie(annoyed): He did hear it from you and he started it.

Michael W.(laugh): I’m just having a little fun.

Marie(annoyed): Well funs over.

Darcy joins Tom, Andrew, Michael and Marie. Andrew sneezes again.

Darcy: Morning guys.

Tom, Marie, Michael W.: Hi Darcy.

Tom: What brings you here today?

Marie(taunt): Aren’t you quick to ask.

Tom punches Michael on the arm.

Michael W.(rubbing arm/in pain): What did you hit me for? I didn’t say anything. You know I get the feeling you guys just use me for a punching bag.

Darcy: I’m here on a whim.

Tom & Marie: A whim?

Darcy: Yeah. Lately people have been getting sick consistently (quick speak)and they thing Andy is the cause.

Tom, Marie & Michael W.(surprised): What!?

Michael W.: They don’t really think Andy is the cause, do they?

Darcy: Sadly yes, and the council has received so many complaints that (quick speak again) they request an audience with Andy.

Tom, Marie & Michael W.(surprised): What!?

Darcy pulls out a pass and gives it to Andrew.

Darcy: This pass will excuse you from your first period Carpentry class. Come to the office after homeroom. Later guys.

Tom: Seya Darcy.

Darcy exits.

Michael W.(place elbow on Andrew’s shoulder): Wow! You got a call from the man. Are you nervous?

Andrew: No.

The late bell rings.

Marie: Well good luck with your audience Andy.

Tom: Seya later, tell us how it goes later.

Lakeside High: Student Council Office

Darcy escorts Andrew into the office.

Ryan: Welcome Andrew. Have a seat.

Darcy sits down with the other council members. Andrew sits across from the council members.

Ryan: Just to let you know, Amanda will be recording everything we say here today. But don’t mind her, speak freely.

Andrew: Ok.

Ryan: Now Andrew, do you believe that you’re the cause of the epidemic?

Andrew: No.

Andrew sneezes.

Shirley: But your consecutive sneezing is what cause people to believe that you were the cause.

Ryan: How do you feel about that?

Andrew: They could have mistaken me for someone else.

Shirley: But in each complaint they, mention your exact name.

Amanda: We’ve got permission and checked the records. There is no one else with the sir name “Johnson” attending the school at the current.

Darcy: This leaves only you sad to say.

Ryan: And after every encounter with you, they claim to have fallen ill. What are your thoughts of this?

Andrew: I don’t really have a comment here.

Ryan: I see. Andrew, Darcy stay here. Amanda, Shirley come with me.

Ryan, Shirley and Amanda exit the room.

Andrew: Why didn’t he take you too?

Darcy: They know that I’m friends with you. They think that I would try something to lighten their decision.

Ryan, Shirley and Amanda deliberate on what they heard from Andrew for a while then reenter the room.

Ryan: 1st period is about to end. Go back to your regular schedule.

Andrew: Am I out of suspicion? 

Shirley: You’re still under suspicion.

Ryan: We’ll need to run this with upper faculty members. Tomorrow we’ll let you know if you’re in the clear or suspended.

Lakeside High: Entrance- Next Day

Tom: So you think Andy is suspended?

Marie: Yep.

Tom: Wow! That’s pretty cold Marie.

Kim: Why is Andy…

Tim: Getting suspended?

Marie: Cause he has a cold.

Kim: Andy is sick?

Tim: We haven’t noticed.

Tom: So you guys haven’t noticed he sneezes at least once a day?

Kim & Tim: Now that you mention it.

Andrew and Michael arrive.

Michael W.: Everybody happy and supportive that Andy’s not gonna get suspended?

Marie: Forget that, we all know Andy’s a goner.

Andrew: Why do you say that?

Kim & Tim: From what we hear, you’re pretty much screwed.

Michael W.: Come on, you guys don’t seriously believe that, do you?

Everyone remains silent.

Tom: Wow! I on the other hand remains neutral.

The council members arrive.

Ryan: We’ve come to a decision and …

Kim & Tim(interrupting Ryan): Hold up, there is no way you can suspend Andy.

Michael W.: Just because everything seems to point towards him, doesn’t mean…

Darcy(interrupting): Kim, Tim, Michael you’re not helping.

Michael W.: What the hell are you talking about?

Kim & Tim: Were trying to save Andy (whisper)unlike last time.

Amanda: He was never gonna get suspended.

Tom, Marie, Kim, Tim, Darcy, Michael W.(surprised): What!?!

Andrew: But I thought that all the evidence pointed to me?

Shirley: We looked over the complaints and found an alternate source.

Ryan: All the complaints came from seniors that pressured the lower classmen to file them. Reasons are unknown though. So you could just call it a senior prank.

Marie(mad): Just a prank you say? You almost suspended someone for no good reason.

Ryan: We realize that. We’ll do our best to prevent something like this from happening again but understand at the current there is only so much that we can so. Good day.

Ryan, Shirley and Amanda leave.

Tom: Well that was a close call. Hey Darcy, thought you said that the vice president handles all the problems around here.

Darcy: I did but for some reason the prez wanted to do this one personally.

Kim & Tim: Maybe he didn’t want Andy to get suspended either.

Michael W.(hugging Andrew): But at least Andy is safe.

Andrew sneezes.

Michael W.(letting go of Andrew): Hey don’t get me sick.

Marie: Now don’t start that again.

Andrew: I can’t help it.

Marie thumps Andrew on the head.

Andrew: Ouch.
