Him and Her

Him and Her

A Poem by MattD
"

A cool pattern and not as cheesy as it sounds. But as two's worlds meet, feeling we can't put to words happen in our limitless realities.

"

Him and Her

I am standing in a desert, about to drown
I am searching so hard for what I already found
I know in the end, separation is part of fate
I can’t help thinking it is just too late

He fell asleep at dawn without a reason to fly,
He still spread his wings as all his dreams passed by
He looked past them all for someone he adored
He tried to find out what he ignored

She was hoping for an angel, perhaps a friend
She saw a wingless angel always looking to heaven
She knew the angel well and helped it to be free
She cried for what the angel couldn’t see

You were walking by the roads of midnight town
You gazed at all the city lights, but didn’t hear a sound
You had hoped for someone to say it all was alright
You only heard yourself saying it wasn’t night

They were standing in the desert, about to drown
We are gazing at the city lights but don’t hear a sound
You and I are the wingless angels who were so free
I and You fly into twilight, holding hands closely

Aw, what a cute poem! I loved it! The way you switched from his and her pov was really cool. The rhyme scheme was cool, too. Details and descriptions were good. Your poem was beautifully written! :D
