Vice

Vice

A Poem by Gem
"

A work in progress...

"

Alone in a crowded room
Who thought her heart would break so soon
Love's strong vice still held her tight
Pulling her apart in the silence of the night.

Calling out in a silent scream
Angels fearing her violent plea.
"Let this be over,
Let me be me
Again."

Locked in their world
With seams beginning to fray and fold.
Nothing would ever be enough
Another vice still held too tough.

Calling out in a silent scream
Angels fearing her violent plea.
"Let this be over,
Let me be me
Again."

I enjoyed reading your poem! It seems you show a different side to love, the side that sacrifices it's own identity, and sees love as a vice to overcome versus something more tender and romantic. Nice job - nice use of rhyme and rhythm as well, good flow. Yep, I really liked it!
