The Hazy Phase

The Hazy Phase

A Poem by Gem
"

Something I wrote whilst on a training course to run clinics on Drug misuse.

"

Tell me what should I do?
Whilst I sit alone and wait for you.
My breath echoes down the empty corridor
Every moment only makes me want you more
Many days spent trapped in a fog
Precious moments my brain doesn’t log
… A year long sleep
With memories I no longer keep
… Years of abuse
I always thought, what’s the use
of trying to find an easy out
Only to struggle with my own self doubt
I thought that would change when I found you
Another chance to start anew
A chance to change me
To the person I never let anyone see
But now as I sit in a darkened room
With only a feeling of impending doom
In regard to why I feel this way?
It comes in the form of the words you say.
Or rather the ones I heard in the past
My problems killed our world so fast
My world is just a fuzzy haze
Only brightened by a pictures gaze
