A Poem by Shannon Carinne Sparks

Confusion paints
The incessant patterns
Of my mind
Like a phrophet blind
To visions which matter
However faint

Summer turns
To bleed her ashes
On clean thoughts
Making them dusty, unclear
Her desire burns
As she bats her lashes
And emotions she fought
Flood back with tears

To progress
We must first let go
Of what we fear-

Adequacy, need, dissapointment
To make a commitment
Like an unwavering spear
Against an enemy we unknow
Things unconfessed

Mountains conquered
Lands empty and valueless
Left just an underworld
Of loose ends
Tightly covered
By thorns of stress
Which gnaw and curl
As fate's fingers bend
