Live with Truth

Live with Truth

A Poem by wolfie

Inhaling a cloud of smoke
She can taste the devil on her tongue
Makes her words stubborn
Makes her words cruel
Perhaps even a surprise
But never a word untrue

She is in the frame of picture perfect
Down to the broken skin of her knuckles
Even when her glare is sharp
Or her fingernails like talons
The smile lingers still

Finally,
When the angel visits
She doesn't know what to do
Even when he asks her if she loved to live
Her words spilled,
"I lived to love"
