Midnight Sickness

Midnight Sickness

A Poem by wolfie

Melancholy eyes
Broken windows
Night Fall chills
Sore toes
Numb legs
Falling against icy sidewalks
Looking over a quiet city
Lights flickering in the distance
The moon hidden
A cup of coffee in one hand
A scarf floating in the wind
Still
Even among darkness
Lingers the sun kiss tails of warmth and light
That remain until morning
Crystals that sparkle with rising sun gloss
Tickling the heart like the fuzz of a baby bunny
Despite the sickness
