Living Under the Sun

Living Under the Sun

A Poem by wolfie

She didn't know who she was going to be when she opened her eyes
The world was just as surprised
There was just this small smiling flower
Who giggled at every rainbow after rain showers
All the creatures that stood taller than this baby
All they've ever known was deceit and hatred
But when this child came into their lives
She was sunflowers and sunshine
She adapted to her circumstances like a fish
From ocean, to river, to tank but she had a vision
She grew ambitions
Like the tiger, she held her temper but kept her claws
She was beauty and grace, sovereignty and law
Until the heavens knocked her down
People laughed and frowned
No one could save her then
So she walked the pavement of thorns and threads
Alone, she learned to stand again
But when she did, she would never be the same
Hell had reared its awful head
Heartbreak, broken smiles, and tear shed
This fish and tiger had found that silver lining
It was the thread of insanity
"There would be no pain if we ignore the bane and live in a tangent plane"
It was escapism at the best
Ignorance at the worst
It was futile though
She saw herself reflected in every single eye that met hers
Hell was everywhere and in everyone
Suffering and weariness harbored in their souls
The fish and tiger thought, "We smile everyday with a black heart but how can we ignore the black hearts of others?"
It was plain, they just couldn't
That was not who she was
Yes, she did not know who she would be when she woke up
Perhaps the world had drastically changed her perspective
But that wouldn't change who she was
She was sunflowers and sunshine who had slept in the dark for far too long
But she woke up
That was all that matters
Her heart may still be black
Yet she'll cry and bleed for others
smile and be angry for others
She was fish and tiger
Adaptability and justice
No one had saved her and she couldn't save anyone
But she would help them learn to stand again
Even if they fell and cursed
Or cursed her
She would just keep smiling
Until they can understand how a black heart can rise in darkness
And join her under the sun

I really felt this poem.
In some lines, I got chills up my spine.
I found myself relating to a lot of the lines.
Really nice write!
