Lull me to Silence

Lull me to Silence

A Poem by wolfie

No end is there to the fear of free-falling
Yet there I fall onto bent knee praying loudly in the recess of my mind
"God, if there is one-"
All the words that could have wept fell silent
The symphony of it upon my tongue
What have I to pray for?
What would I have prayed for?
All I've ever wished for is an end like falling snow
When any talk would very well vanish in that endless white
Numbing cold like fluff upon my cheek
In which I rest my weary head
There, the prayer weeps into my mind once more
"God, if there is one...
Let the silence reach me and lay me forevermore-"
