She's blown out like a candleA Poem by wolfie
She gazes at the sky,
watching the moon, and all her shifting faces. In the dark blue skylight, moonlight, lilies sip rain droplets, each rain pellet curving perfectly into their lips. A perfect shadow stands beside her, much like a dear companion. Such a state of serenity, so why are her eyes opaque? Like a pitch black tempest, raging silently, as stranger's sleep in the eyes of those storms? She's weeping, her hands upon her bosom, as though to keep the the last of her heart inside a dam. Yet damned she is, as her cries sputter and she is silent once more. She is carried off by the wind, like fluttering blossoms in the midst of fall, much like the coming coma of winter. The skin flaking from her skeletal dreams, and her organs bursting one by one in an unquenched desire for solidarity. As she sinks slowly into the earth, her roots embed deeply, searching for a lifeline. Yet, that string is always out of reach, even as she sinks. She's still reaching out, grasping for anything to hold on to. For a hope amidst the solemn seasons of maturity and release.
