LOVE IN A MIRROR: REFLECTED AND BROKENA Poem by wolfie
A desire can be beautiful,
no matter how selfish or destructive. It's just another dream waiting to burst under the strains of reality. Yet love is dead, rolling in the coffin reaching out whispering, "Bring me back to life, you can't live without me" but the dead don't simply stand, they drag themselves out. The weight of layers of dirt is heavy, but it all scatters and crunches under shifting feet. Love is dead, but it just won't stop crawling out from the hole you made. There is an electric current, and it won't stop running away. Drowning in your soul, but the lust for life sucks me dry. It's a desire so beautiful, it couldn't help but kill us both. Eternity in the other's embrace, even when there's nothing left of us, even when our souls exhaust, we're still climbing up from hell. We just can't get enough. No escape for us, love, selfishness isn't pretty in heaven, and hell is no place for soulmates unless it's Romeo and Juliet. However, you're not the Romeo to my Juliet, yet it's the tantalizing dream that keeps us alive in our coffins when love is dead. Beauty better off rotting before the venom leaves ideas in our heads. I rather dream of a wonder that I would need than a rotten heart beating in your hands.
