Charming

Charming

A Poem by wolfie

Heaven will not shine nor will it reach out to the people.
Rather, it simply warns us of the monsters,
whether they be real or of our own creation and imagination.
In this land of so-called paradise,
the only thing truly living is a blossoming tree,
separate from humanity,
and hidden in the center where everything else glazes over.
The beast has always been within me.
Even if I am in the form of a fragile kitten,
a dragon lingers within,
waiting to be reborn.
Even if death were to take me,
my soul is restless.
It will threaten to spill and scatter to the end of the worlds,
if only it were to stay.
Even if the world is revolting or dastardly,
there is gravitation that pulls me to it.
The world is hideous, but it has it charms.
