Importance in Detours

Importance in Detours

A Poem by wolfie

I'm a drifter in the sea,
no place to call home,
staged to my name.
I've an arm riddled with words,
the other with scars,
the only temporary proof, existential actuality.
I've a brain to carry me far,
when my feet fail to part,
because I'm the only one who'll know where the end leads me.
It doesn't matter where the waves take me,
the future will become astray,
it's just life, it's its way.
Life is far from a narrow road,
it takes vision for the world to goad,
but if I pull out from the waters I'll be short of frisson,
there's no need for reality if it follows reason.
