Ardent Flame

Ardent Flame

A Poem by wolfie

Her arms curled, twisting and folding like snakes,
slender fingers taunting and inviting,
an enticing smile gracing her exquisite features.
As the violins shrilled along with the hypnotic rhythmic drums,
miniature cymbals clashing and mimicking her abrupt shake of her hips or shoulders,
the tongue spilling foreign sounds, rising and falling with the intensity of silk.
The flames lashed out to the cool air,
it's flickering shadow joining the beat,
extending to the dancers feet as embers floated like fireflies.
Her anklet jingled with every jerk of her foot,
stomping, her toes sinking into the rough sand,
sending particles flying like droplets of rain in spring shower.
With a fluttering heartbeat,
unwinding to the slowing tune,
her dance ended with her long curly hair spilling behind her in waves,
her arms stretched as if a flower were to bloom in her palms,
her fervent eyes encouraging her audience,
flowing with the intensity of the blaze.
