Hope Around the Corner

Hope Around the Corner

A Poem by wolfie

There had been a deafening silence,

still and stagnant air,

heavy fumes circling my lungs,

then sunrise came...

it was the brightest morning,

the most beautiful star shined above my head,

cleared the clouds I always tried to tip-toe around,

I breathed deeply,

the softest welcoming breeze enveloped me,

and suddenly I could see again,

I could see the end,

I could see the grooves in my path,

I could see the thorns as well,

but most of all,

I could see what I wanted most at the end...

I knew it wouldn't be an easy road,

I would laugh if it were,

but that was what gave strength to these weak legs,

gave strength to these limp arms,

gave hope to my chaotic heart,

and gave peace of mind,

Although my goal was light years away from where I stood,

I also knew hope was just around the corner
