Establishing Madness

Establishing Madness

A Poem by wolfie

Deep within lies mischievous cries,

a pumping heart,

cracked like the pavements we stand on,

wearing a snow white dress,

hands crossed,

eyes closed,

glimmering under the enchanting moonlight,

resting upon our razorblade bed,

angels asleep before the gothic cross,

withering roses dying upon a beautiful brow,

silver clockwork embellishing pale fingertips,

webbing tender skin...

Awaken from slumber,

when the morose dream began,

and the frightening screams arose,

patterns of monochrome,

black walls bleeding steel,

the fragile glass shattered,

reality and fantasy clashed,

sweltering fury,

tears welling on the edges of pure sapphires,

voices contrasting,

none of which are right or wrong or lies or true,

yet closer to the darker abysmal than that which it appears...

Following the anxiety and the terror and the fear,

plunging into calm waters,

the soothing voice which calls to us,

and returns the gift of reason and sanity,

and all that keep what is precious and dear to us safe,

and all that keep the sharpen swords hidden from the darker corners of our minds,

eyelids prying open,

unto the light which the shadows cower from,

and return us to our rude awakening,

upon the time madness has established,

away from all that society has disapproved,

and that which humanity continues to struggle
