Death in my Bedroom

Death in my Bedroom

A Poem by wolfie

Sleeping peacefully on my bed,

suddenly feeling as heavy as lead,

startled awake by nightmares,

my head continues pounding away,

my heart seems ready to burst,

phenomenal paranoia grips,

not even able to twitch,

I lay awake staring at my ceiling,

fear is clenching its fist,

pain blossoms in my chest,

breathing becoming agonizingly shallow,

nostalgia flickers in my mind,

as the shadow comes to take me away in the night.
