Goodbye..........

I wrote this in high school when my best friend went off to college and I was left behind....

Yesterday I thought of you,

And my heart shed a tear.

For the memories all but forgotten,

That always were so clear.

I wish we could have stopped in time,

No room for things to change.

I liked them just the way they were,

Now your absence seems so strange.

But things have not been lost,

You're always on my mind.

Someday we'll be best of friends again,

In a dream of another time.
