MorganA Poem by SadieGI remember you poemsweat ran from our foreheads as i ran towards the last jump, hitting the air as the cymbals clashed, his strong yet gentle hands gripped my waist. as i was flying, our breathing in sync, not letting go of the air until my feet touched the ground and we spun into the next sequence. losing ourselves in the few minutes we had on stage making our work seem easy. we found the steps in our memories in a feeling easier than speaking. our sharp exhales, as our motions became synchronous again. the fluidity of the steps, moving together in the perfect of partnership. in this simple pas de deux, years of practice. all towards this five minutes i smiled at him as he led us on for the final bow, bowing to him, thanking him, in the only way i could. our smiles shared what our silence could not, my hands fumbled for the rose. the rose that i was to hand to him, he kisses my hand and we step forward leading the entire cast in a final bow. the silence broken. as the sea of silhouettes erupted into applause © 2015 SadieG |
