...Blood sprayed,

...Blood sprayed,

A Poem by Simon Omboga

They came and pierced me,
...With their hooks they pierced me,
And they laughed at me.
They watched me burn,
...With pain I burned.
My blood sprayed the wall behind me,
And they went up and licked it greedily.

Are these people who deserve my forgiveness?
Nay, I choose to forgive them.

They left me there, knowing I was dead...
For I had passed out from the pain.
But dead I was not and slowly came to...

Are these people who deserve my forgiveness?
Nay, I choose to forgive them.

And now, I am up and living,
I am covered with scars,
But I look forward to my dreams,
I look forward to starting my life.

And I know, I am at peace,
...As for the scars, I do not know if they will go away,
I do not know if the pain will ever end.
But faith I have, in my fairy tales,
For I made a choice,
A choice did I make,
To forgive them.
