The Family Tree

The Family Tree

A Poem by sgheath

In pain, I fought to give you life
Hours of labor through the night
Little did I know my work had just begun
With tears ahead and a lullaby sung

A toddler, a child, a teen was made
Soon a young man to make your own way
First there was a bride who was fit you see
The perfect choice for a Mother To Be

Full circle it goes this chain of life
From Mother to Son when he takes a wife
She too will one day soon conceive
A new life branch to begin a new tree

Life is one of the few circular things many forget about - our children our a mirror of our best and worst and more likely to be much more like us than we want to admit. You show care, compassion and love in this piece so kudos and keep it up please.
