Fourteen Days

Fourteen Days

A Poem by Essa G

Do you know how long I’ve been waiting for you

I know you wouldn’t wait for me, too

Sometimes I wonder how we survived through

Yet there is much left for us to do

I’ve been waiting all along

For you to return home

She stole your heart from my side

Now I’m wandering the streets outside

I loved the way you looked at me

And the way you smiled

I’ve been waiting for you

For fourteen days of my life

The whispers fill the hallway

I think I’ll go that way

I wish I could go back in time

When your voice always chimes in my head

I’m not the one you’re looking for

She’s the girl with high heels on the floor

I’m just a plain one

Not the girl you dumped for fun

I loved the way you looked at me

And the way you smiled

I’ve been waiting for you

For fourteen days of my life

I loved the way you looked in my direction

But she perfected herself to perfection

She’s the one you love the most

She could tell the whole coast

I loved the way you looked at me

And the way you smiled

I’ve been waiting for you

For fourteen days of my life

My body is limp because of you

It was as if I was a fly to shoo

It’s like you stabbed me with a knife

For fourteen days of my life

For fourteen days of my life with you

For fourteen days of my life.
