Today I discovered a beautiful artifact in the depths of a cave in Panama. As I walked along the cave I dragged my hand along the wall hearing nothing but the crunch of the leaf underfoot. The cave wall was cool to the touch and smelled of smoke, I could taste it in the air. I saw what appeared to be a camping area. I walked across the area and found a pot with the remains of a meal. It was something but it just wasn’t what I had in mind. I shuffled past a log covered in a blanket of leaves and moved some leaves around. I saw something sparkle and move a few more leaves over. Perfect! I had no idea what the thing was I picked up but it was beautiful and definitely something. I placed it in my bag to take back to the lab. I picked up the pot with the remains of the meal just in case my boss doesn't like my, whatever it is. I placed the pot in my bag and headed back to work. Once I got back to work my boss asked what I picked up on my way. I opened the bag to show him. I pulled out the pot first, best to save the best for last. He grabbed the pot out of my hands, but only after snapping a pair of gloves on. He looked at the sides as shiny as silver, the handle as strong as a brick, and the food as rotten as a pineapple left in the sun for a year. He smelled the food. He made a face of disgust. “If that’s all you got..” He started to say “Oh, I definitely have more!”I cut him off a wide smile spreading across my face. I pulled the other object out. It appeared to have the face of a man, the beard of a billy goat, the antlers of a deer, the horn of a unicorn, the ears of an elephant, the feet of a lizard or frog, the tail of a dolphin, the arms of a mummy, the horn of a unicorn, and the antlers of a deer. My boss smiled at me in approval as he took the thing out of my hands. “What do you want to call this?” He said examining the figure. “The Golden Lizard Man.” I replied without thinking. He handed The Golden Lizard Man back to me. I walked to my lab and started examining. I swabbed the newly found artifact. I cleaned it. The test results showed that it was from somewhere around 500-1000. I cleaned the figure some more. The gold it was made of felt cold in my hand. I finished my examining and headed home humming, knowing I was going to get a fat paycheck.

I like what you did with this, and how it takes place in the future. Is that small sculpture really worth that much though? I would assume that you did some research on this so I wouldn't question you though. I love how I can make a real world connection with the end, humming on the way home glad about getting more money.
