Chapter Two

As soon as Joanna and Leila had started their descent more people followed. Soon Leila and Joanna came upon a fork. They chose the left side. Leila looked back up to see how much ground they had covered and was surprised to see and a lot of people tumbling down the stairs. Thankfully, they went on tumbling down the right side and it didn't harm them. Joanna walked on when she realized that the storm might already be over. She grabbed Leila and turned her around. “Let’s go back up. I think we made a wrong turn.” When Leila and Joanna reached the top of the stairs they swung open the door. It was 100% peaceful outside. A boy ran over to them. He was about Joanna’s age. Another boy of somewhere around 6 walked up behind the other man. His face was tan and bruised. His hair was a rag of brown. His hazel eyes glinted with fear. He had a faded green shirt with varied splotches of dirt and mud here and there. His pants were torn in all imaginable places and it was a wonder they stayed up. On one foot he wore a sock encrusted in dirt and on the other foot was a shoe with a whole in the toe, also encrusted in dirt. The original man looked like the little boy only bigger. “Hi.” Leila said. “Hello. I’m Daron.” Said the little boy. “I’m Leila.” Leila replied. Joanna and Drake, the other ragged person, introduced each other. Drake told his story. “I was walking to the Market Plaza with my son while the sun was still shining. I noticed that the sky was getting a little darker and I saw a storm headed our way. I tried to get to the market faster but I didn't get there in time. I was almost to the Easy Egg when it started.” Drake’s story had been. Joanna shared her story. After they had fully met each other and had learned each other’s ways, they looked for other people. They went to Market Plaza. They went to Sleeping Stork, the local retirement home. They went to Cake Castle. And they went to Picturesque Park.  They found no over living people so they sat down on a bench and thought about what to do. That’s when they saw a figure off in the distance. It was tall with eyes that shined too bright to look at. He appeared vividly to have long beachy blonde hair just past his chin. As he came closer they saw his eyes to just be glowing orbs. They had to use their hands to shield the light from their eyes. The man opened his mouth to speak and more light flooded out. “I. AM. GOD.” The man spoke.

I can't wait to read more. You are just so great at cliff hangers. What will turn out with the man who claims to be God. That is not how I imagine God but I will go along with it if that's how you want it to be in the story. Keep writing.
