America's CoffeeA Poem by Samantha HartleyAmerica’s Coffee By: Samantha Hartley
I pledge allegiance…
apologies for an off-delivery, I didn’t have my coffee this morning, yeah
enough said You know what’s up The best
part of waking up is Folgers in your cup (©/TM/® The Folger
Coffee Company). Second best part- incipient life. Kids, marijuana kills
kids. Kids, “The weed with its roots in hell.” A stygian-brained dealer hides under
Your bed, littering innocent shoes with cannabis. Incipient life. I just said
NO! and You can too. A drug is a drug is a drug is a commodity to my flag. “Women indicated that drinking coffee is a
good way to relax. Men indicated that coffee helps them get the job done.”

shouts in nuanced tones, billowing out in smoky grips- I must wake up for
school so I can work one day too! Let’s
play Monopoly! We all share the same dream of
the United States of America- a magical place of telepathy. Incipient life.
