Raven and the Wolf

Raven and the Wolf

A Poem by desertraven

Raven Wolf

The story of Animal totems- Raven and the Wolf

Thought they had mated for life

with the one’s from their youth.

Until, one day when destiny

unveiled the bitter truth.

With their first mates,

forever wasn’t meant to be.

For Raven and Wolf

were to meet in a land

beholden of no sea.

Enveloped by many mountains

and dirt.

Upon their first meeting,

the two did flirt.

Anxiety and passion filled the air

As Raven and Wolf forgot their despair.

They carried on, without a care

In hopes, one day,

Raven would give Wolf a male heir.

Raven had two daughters and Wolf had one.

Still, they wished for Wolf to have a son.

Raven grew older and Wolf didn’t care.

For they lived blissful, without a male heir.

Wonderful! I like the style this is written in as well as the close bond the two animals have. Wonderful message!
