I just want to say Hello again

I just want to say Hello again

A Poem by desertraven

I just want to say Hello, again

The leaves of time

whirling

twirling

swirling

around me

reminding me,

rewinding time,

wanting me,

to remember...

A friendship

like no other

the life lessons

we taught

one another...

At the bus stop

Driftwood and Martinique,

Two teen girls

each very unique.

Bonded like sisters,

two and a half decades

From crushes to vows,

Memories cut like blades...

We bonded for a lifetime

Not merely a season.

She was my conscious

My voice of reason...

Struck down

by breast cancer

in the prime of her life,

She gave so much love

as a mother and a wife.

Lent me her ear

or a helping hand.

Why she died so young?

I’ll never understand.

She lived, loved and laughed

And her will did not bend,

Until the bitter end...

I miss you, my friend.

I just want to say Hello,

again...
