Forever Never KnowingA Poem by S.A. KurzweilThis poem depicts the critical moments in a relationship between two young friends and lovers. The turbulence of life brought them together and tore them apart. Completed 2012.
Unspoken is the affection that a young friendship found
As if we were still smoking at a park and our laughter the only sound Farewell long talks and notions of something better Memories pass so we'll leave it in a letter In the midst of misfortune, the yearnings of a mourner As if we were still talking at the shop on the corner Farewell puzzles in those sad and lonesome places Memories pass in the absence of one's graces The trees gently whisper of budding affection As if we were still savoring honeysuckle by water's reflection Farewell three bottles of wine on carefree nights Memories pass as we turn out the lights A girl's aching heart heals as the music plays so loud As if we were still consoling friends in a concert's crowd Farewell drunken kisses in movie theaters and parked cars Memories pass as dawn overwhelms the stars © 2021 S.A.
