Trip Down Memory Lane

Trip Down Memory Lane

A Poem by peacebeyondpassion

Remember when
Underneath the stars
We discussed
Philosophy
Egyptology
And bliss?

Remember when
You encouraged
Me
To
Do
Better...?

Remember when
You had smiles for days
Laughter was your second
Name....?
Oh this trip down
Memory Lane...

Now I don't know
You,
My muse
My goddess
My sunlight
My ray of
Hope...
Now you sit
No longer abstaining
From
Chemically induced
Bliss...

Now your
Heart gives off
Vibes
Of
Misery...
Black coulds hang low
Over your head
Rain pours
And you have no
Raincoat.
Can we go back down
Memory Lane?

Reminiscing
On fireworks, stars,
Daydreams of
Places we'd travel
Afar
Engulfed in each
Other
For a brief moment..
Feeling butterflies
In my stomach
Seeing you from miles away
Greeting you with
A smile
Leaving you with a
Warm
Embrace...
Ahh memory lane..

Passion for the present
Hope for the future
Taking this stroll..
Alone..
Down memory lane.

Reality is
Ever present
The butterflies
Nonexistant...
Passion for the future
Replaced by the
Cruelty in the present.
Temple no longer holy
Unfullfilled desires
Casted
Aside...as I leave
Memory Lane.

About
I have been writing since I have been able to spell. Over the years I've taken my own tone, gathered my own thoughts about life, love and the pursuit of happiness. What I feel I either write it down.. more..
