Broken Promises

my life

I was once a star, but now the sparkle is gone

I was once full of joy, but now only regret is left

Regret for coming here, regret for not leaving

And regret for becoming one of them

But in my heart I will always stay the same

Because the more something changes,

The more it stays the same

I learned that, the same place I learned

That ignoring something

Is easier than dealing with it

My regret will always be here

Because if I go back, more will come

And that regret, that regret will stay forever

And forever is a long time

 

 

I was once up high, but now I'm stuck in my own mind, my own depression

I was once full of life, but now all that’s left is despair

Despair of ever going back

Despair of changing back

And despair of regaining happiness

But happiness is earned,

Because what makes one happy

Can also make one sad

What gives one life

Can give one death

My despair won't stay forever

But for now, all I have is

Regret, despair, and

Broken promises
