Spiders

Spiders

A Poem by Azarel Szabo

Talking
Laughing
Hitting it off
New friends
And old friends
The flame and its' moths

Yet here I am
Lonely
Away from it all
A spider
A freak
In the dark
On the wall

In the corner
In the shadow
I watch you flit by
Weary to come by my web
As you fly

But I don't really mind
I know you're not sure
You don't know the secret
My home and my lure

Is no trap at all
My web
Far and wide
Reaches out to so many
Friendship they provide

You just couldn't see it
You had to evade

Within we're all spiders
Afraid and estranged
In a web
In the dark
But not alone

Never alone
