Terrible Dreams or Wonderful Nightmares?

Terrible Dreams or Wonderful Nightmares?

A Poem by Tyler P

The nights haunt me

Recollections and memories come

From this cage, deliver freedom

Invade my dreams as it seems

When I awake none hear my screams

In my dreams you amble by my side

A sense of peace do you provide

Inject a heavy dose of despondency

For when daylight comes so does misery

My misguided heart wants more

But I know that's not what I wish for

Forever yearning to reunite

Abject desires I must fight

The memory of you is trapped in my head

Blissful dreams torment me in bed

So very near within my dreams

In them your light it gleams

Yet in the day so far away

Out of touch forever to stay

How can you, and I, be free?

You are not welcomed, be gone with thee!

Sever the connection

That was found in our affection

Be gone, and never return

You, my inspiration to pen this nocturne

Reconciliation, a hope far gone

From each other forever withdrawn

So foolish hopes of a love renewed

Those naive dreams that always intrude

Hopeless desires that defy

All sense of logic they deny

Leave me forevermore

Be in my mind nevermore
