Two Towels Imitation Poem Victor Hernandez Cruz

Two Towels Imitation Poem Victor Hernandez Cruz

A Poem by Sergio Reyna

Two Towels were left in a bathroom all alone

they sat on different racks

in this solitude they started talking to each other

my skin is ugly and full of muck

the fat hairy man who uses me is of disgust

I have seen things in corners and in cracks

I have seen privates that I regret having taped

The sweat of his body dives into my pores

When they squeeze me tight

My stomach twists and turns as I gag

Out the angels who live off the chorus

The trios singing sadden songs on loosen organs

As he uses me to wipe his hairy back

Have you ever had hair in your mouth before?

Oh, the balls, the balls, the balls

Oh, the balls, the balls, the balls

the salty wrinkly balls

why couldn’t I be a guitar

to have my strings strung to the sounds of songs

the Other Towel:

In 2012 Hawaii

when Spring Break Started

with Mexican & PuertoRican girls

I am the one, that one of them held

tight like a woman

they rubbed me up against them

I never felt something so soft.

as I drunk from cavern waterfalls

I never believed in heaven

but I know now that God is the Man

to bless me with ten t*****s

mmmmmm

what  a blessing.

I’ve been in lockers and gyms

I hugged a baby in an apartment on 102nd street

after a baptism pregnant with women

the men flirted and made their moves

and I knew they would never get to be me

to see the things that I’ve seen.

Someone is opening the door now

The two towels......
