I Burn

I Burn

A Poem by Xiadae Demakian
"

For those who yearn for the magic of childhood.

"

I burn

For the fields of wheat

And firefly kisses

Miracles of gold and grass

And sandcastle dreams

I burn

For knights in armor

Damsels in distress

Sunsets full of love

Stories full of laughter

I burn

For smores and campfires

Bike rides and skinned knees

Playgrounds with swings

Honeysuckle summers

I burn

For the happy ending

For the sweet dream

For true love

For eternal hope

I burn

For music and rhyme

For sunlight and stars

For family and friend

For courage and truth

I burn

To always remember

To never let go

To always stand true

To never forget

I burn

For yesterday

For today

For tomorrow

...Forever

I burn

Oh how everyone misses childhood, how simplistic to live without politics.
Nice write.
