Caged KingA Poem by Sirius KingCaged KingCaged King
A caged king In a circus ring Stolen From his African home Forced to preform tricks Under the threat of a whip Spirit broken Defeated And dethroned
A caged king With a song to sing But it seems he lost his roar Is he really a king? Or was it all a dream? Beyond this cage It has to be more
A caged king Conditioned With precision On how to think And how to act Shocks the crowd When he finally goes wild And goes on the attack
With a blood stained mane A crimson encrusted crown He calls out to his kingdom As the other kings gather ‘round
They too want to taste freedom Their hunger grows as flesh rips Dragging the bodies of those Who stole them… The holders of the whips
A king un-caged Stands on a stage That was built for his demise He stands proud As he roars loud The king in him is still alive!
