 You’ve got it all figured out

An amateur expert on everything

Do you really know…

What the hell you’re talking about?

 

Pontificating poisonous politics

Preaching with your powerful pen

Plowing through the world’s problems

But failing to find peace within

 

Everyone else is wrong

That’s your skewed point of view

You have all of the answers, don't you?

And no one else has a clue

 

Oh wise creative wordsmith

With your captivating characters and concepts

The world is not your keyboard

So (Ctrl- Alt- Delete) your God complex

 

Mr. Poet KnowItAll

Just admit it, you’re a fraud

Get off of your high horse and soapbox

Because there is no one around to applaud

I know that feel, those who flaunt their "expert poetry skills" and look down on others, are only fakes. Poetry comes from the soul, besides, nobodies perfect, we are all flawed. I probably spelled a few things wrong just now XD. I smirked the whole time reading this, truly understood what you get at. Keep up the writing, friend :)

Poignant write! I think I like it because it's raw honest, and I hate it because I've been guilty of it! Haha! Nothing like a great poem to keep me humble. And your use of alliteration in the second stanza is almost insulting in its perfection! Haha! I hope you're understanding that I'm quite taken aback by this poem because it's an attack on lofty poets who use their knowledge of words as a sword wielded against other poets, but also because of it's great writing! Totally enjoyed this one!

To know everything is impossible. The more one knows the less one knows. Good to reign in one's arrogance once in a while. Eventually you'll find that balance between humility and confidence.

The duality of self and others is hard to balance. Usually those who takes care of the world seem to find their own reality slipping away from neglect.

This is a good poems to remind everyone not to take their political stance too seriously.

Born Yesterday was a good political movie that rings similar sentiments about politics being frivolous yet necessary.

Like it dude, I've got a similar thing I've been working on, I'll let you know when it's about.

It's true that sometimes you have a rush of inspiration you write it all down then look at it and think "damn I sounds like an arsehole!" It's easy to be pretentious when writing political poetry, the old stench of pretence lol

I like this, it says a great deal. I've always adhered to the opinion that writing, especially poetic prose, is as individual a choice to the author as the type of underwear they chose to wear. Some prefer boxers; others, briefs. Some prefer not to wear any underwear at all. The point is, you find your unique voice; whether it be horror, erotica, or children's poetry, and you try it on, see if it fits you. If it does fit, and you like it? It really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.
