I wrote this when Sandy Hook first happened, i guess i forgot to post it...just a few a my thoughts.

The nation weeps

For the children of sandy hook

Those children…

 Could’ve been our very own

But who cries

 For all the kids that died

Caused by U.S. airstrikes

Bombs, bullets, and drones?

 

How many innocent children’s lives

Has this government sacrificed?

To maintain its global hold

Where is the outrage

From “We the People?”

Why are we buying…

What we are being sold?

 

Is it because they live far away?

Is it their foreign customs?

Is it because they are evil?

...Maybe its because they’re Muslim?

 

For the children of sandy hook

I too have tears in my eyes

For their suffering is my suffering

Like the children who suffer worldwide

this is incredibly moving...makes me think of several protest songs from the sixties..especially "eve of destruction" by barry maguire and "Monster" by steppenwolf.

yes, we go other places, and we do this...but that is in the name of "War"--the devastation we cause by that is no less abominable than what happened at Sandy Hook.

Excellent..and I too think of all the world's suffering and war is not the only cause....sandi hook is but a drop ..even in the USA... no body talks about the gang violence anymore..or the "war" that crosses the border.. i have a friend who just adopted 2 orphans from Somalia .( and no they are not wealthy) ..he & his wife are two of a few who really step out to make a difference....
What about Hati ? the list goes on and on...thank you for bringing this to light...

Your right, all of the issues you named need our attention, but because the media tends to focus on celebrity gossip we never here about what really going on. so ppl chose to act as tho it doesn't exist..out of sight, out of mind
