Two Headed Monster

 

A two headed monster

A remote controlled beast

Who’s ready to slice away his lies…

So every starving child can feast?

 

A plump piñata

With its poisonous skin

Are we prepared to break it open…

And gut out the parasites within?

 

One head growls at the other

They put on a show …and it works

 They seem angry at each other

As they both conquer the earth

 

The creature sings a song

To keep us all calm

A sweet little treat

To lull us back to sleep

 

Like small impressionable children

All snug in their beds

Dreaming of being alive

But comfortable with being dead

 

The makers of the monster

Don’t expect some to resurrect

Wake up the masses

And cause an impact

 

Cause a revolt

Against the monster’s assault

Fight until the end

Until the tyranny halts

 

Until the creature dies

And the people rise

Released from their leashes

Claiming back what had been denied

One head is the Republican Party, the other is the Democrats...just in case you didn't get it lol :-)

i love the brilliant interpretation of the two party system in this country. it is indeed a two headed monster, although i have to interject that the right head is much more insidious and ugly....at least you don't see the left head choking on its own stupidity...very cleverly thought out and wonderfully penned!
