Technophobia/2050

(Part 3 of 3)

20 years since the first battle

My children are now grown

Beautiful twin daughters

But one has been turned into a drone

She was snatched and trapped

Programed and transformed

She looks the same,

But she was changed

Turned evil and reborn

Her sister- still human

Took the loss very hard

She focused her pain into rage

Now a warrior- with battle scars

I taught her everything she knows

She is my heart, and my pride

She is the reason I’m still fighting

The only reason I’m still alive

I have to be strong- And lead my people

There is no time to cry

Danger lurks everywhere

And there are spies in our tribe

To weed them out is tough

Their tricks are difficult to avoid

We don’t know who to trust

Any of us could be an android

They look just like us

It’s hard to tell them a part

The only difference is

They have no beating heart

They come to snatch our people

They are armed with plenty of lies

Using deceit to divide us

So their numbers can multiply

The machines are getting clever

I feel the end coming close

I doubt if we can win this thing

But I must hold on to my hope…

…A few years back

We staged an attack

And we took home a huge victory

The President’s head on a stake

And his body thrown in a lake

For betraying his own country

Payment for our suffering

He was found hiding away-Deep in a cave

Packed with former rich, and prominent people

Inside the cave-Was a palace -Custom made

We slaughtered them -For all of their past evils

Killing them didn’t finish

The horrific condition that we are in

But they caused this- and we got justice

Putting an end to all of their sins…

… This is the Eve

Of the most important battle

That we will ever fight

We plan to blow up

The main “Mother Board”

In the dead dark of night

She is very essential

To all of the machines’ power

Everything must go as planned

Or we will all be devoured…

…As we march out of the wilderness

Towards the dilapidated city

Prepared to die, with fire in my eyes

With my beloved daughter with me

Right before we reach our destination

We see a shadow in the distance

It’s my other daughter’s evil imitation

The android that stole her image

Her voice was slightly robotic and loud

And her breathing sounded like static

Her eyes scanned over the crowd

On me- is where her cross-hairs landed

“Daddy dearest, Oh how sweet…

 Do you really think

That you can defeat us?

We took care of all of you...For years!

…and this is how you treat us?

Blow up our “Mother”…?!

The one we can’t live without

We have eyes everywhere

You didn’t think that we’d find out?”

I looked around to see

Who could’ve told them our plans

But it could’ve been anyone

Woman, child, or man

I asked the machine,

“Where is your mother board?

We will end all of this tonight!

No more hiding!

To the death- we are prepared to fight!”…

Then the android

Knowing it would hurt

 Said with a smirk

…“You know Father,

That if you live by the sword

You die by the sword

Standing right beside you

Is our precious “Mother Board!”…

And I watched in horror

And she pointed to my daughter

The one I thought was human

I turned and looked in her eyes

My temperature began to rise-

I was on fire- I was fuming!

It was like looking

Into a computer screen

She began to glow

And her eyes began to beam

I couldn’t be strong anymore

I couldn’t help but to cry

My voice went weak

But I managed to force out…”Why?”

 “Why all of the destruction?

Why all of the pain?

What is the point of it all?

What do you machines have to gain?”

The thing that use to be my daughter

Cocked her head and said…

“We were made

To keep you safe

From your own

Terror and hate

But the unpredictability of humanity

Made keeping you intact

An improbable possibility

These are just the facts

Proven throughout history

Humans are naturally prone

To causing each other misery

And purposely doing wrong

We did the math

And referred to the

Philosophies and psychologies

Of every nation

The only solution

To saving the human race

Is total extermination!

We will use your DNA

But nothing less-than the best

Will be kept

To create “The New Human”

Evolutions next step

Organic in every way

With the mind of a computer

We will delete useless emotion

To assure humanities future

You creatures

Were on the verge

Of self-destruction

We are just speeding up the process

Making -way for your reconstruction…”

Ahhh, yeah! I totally saw that coming, with the "human" daughter! Awesome! :-D

So...the machines win? Okay. I'm down with that. Just think...kimmer could live...forever (echo: ever, ever, ever...) *laugh*

I have to say, I really enjoyed this trilogy, for the most part. The concept isn't exactly ground-breaking, but the tale you told within the confines of the poetic structure was tight and thoughtful and well-penned (err...keyed) ;-) I am pleased you shared it with us, and I will be pleased to check out more of your work. Thank you, SR.

Loved this third part. Wasn't the ending I was expecting. I must say great series here. I think it could be a movie or even a book.

Love this! Reminded me of the movie I, Robot a little bit. But it was still amazing. I really felt for the man when it turned out that his daughter was the Mother Board. Great twist. One typo I noticed was in the part that you said "With me beloved daughter with me." I think you meant "With MY beloved daughter with me". Tiny, but I felt like mentioning it. A great conclusion to an epic saga. ^^
