Writer’s Block

 

Lately

 I think my muse

Is amused by me

I’m confused

Is she tired of being

Misused by me?

 

Writing only what glorifies my skill

Skipping the substance

And removing what’s real

 

She whispers

“Write something

So someone can be healed”

But instead I pander

With topics that have

A popular appeal

 

Sick of the fake

She escapes

Without notice

Just slipping away

Without a trace

 

Ignoring my invitation

To meet in my imagination

So I may sneak a kiss

Of her sweet inspiration

 

I know that

 She won’t forever say no

Eventually she will come back

 And the creativity will again flow

 So

That’s why I’ve opened up

Every window

To my soul

 

I’ve opened the door

To my mind

 Hoping that she knocks

But guess who is standing there

…I’m not shocked…

It’s my old familiar foe

I really love this, it isn't fun when writer's block strikes. Although with this write, with having writer's block as the inspiration, you wrote this very good, as if writer's block wasn't a problem. Funny how sometimes we may write very good pieces while having this writer's block. Really good write. I can't pick a favorite part, it's all very nice. Enjoyed.

lol i found this pretty funny. creative way to express writer's block (how I hate thee so...). I really like the first stanza and the way you repeat 'use' in different forms, it was like music to my hears. keep writing!

Well from the looks of it, I don't see writer's block , lol i really enjoyed this because we all can relate
I'm also not sure if this was a typo or what but "pander with topics", just wanted to point that out to you

this poem came about when i was writing another one, i couldn't finish that one, so i started this one lol...if that makes since lol

i did mean "pander with topics"...I'm not sure if i used the word "pander" in the wrong context though...

it should be used like this:
Romney panders to rich people...or Obama panders to black ppl... I'm not sure if i used it wrong idk...

Going to sound cheesy I know. But lately I've been carrying a notepad. Something to put in your pocket. Not to big. Seriously you'll be surprised how much it helps. Especially when an idea hits you at a convenient store. I actually had a individual tell me this. And trust me, I probably suffer the worst writers block ever lol.

yea i kinda do the same thing actually, i use the "notes" section on my iphone, it really does help

...and when i write songs, i use a portable voice recorder... it really helps, because my memory is terrible lol especially with remembering melodies
