Fat KidA Poem by Sirius Kingi wrote this in my journey to lose a few poundsJus cuz my Mama Cooked good Don’t mean that I don’t look good
Short fuse Attitude Only friend Comfort food
Mistreated Misused Now I have to Deal with you?
The biggest kid in class Always gets verbally harassed
But
physically They wouldn’t dare They were smart to be scared Reduced
to whispers,
It’s in my genes! That’s why I couldn’t fit in those jeans… Damn kids can be mean! That’s why I had to be mean…
Surround sound -Class clown Everyone heard What I had to say I was quiet for too long Now it’s time to do things My way
Truly unruly Bullying the bullies Not understanding fully The same thing I’m doing Is what had been done to The invisible me Everything I never wanted to be
Best dressed In high school Jus to be seen Everything had to match And shoes had to be clean Anybody wearing off-brands I had to cause a scene Make sure everyone Was laughing at them So they wouldn’t be Laughing at me
Insecurity
The route To the worst Of these things Even as an adult The thought Still stings
In me he will forever live... Can’t get rid Of the emptiness Of that fat kid © 2012 Sirius KingAuthor's Note
