Yesterday's

 

We speak of tomorrow

while yesterday lingers on

a past unsettled and never gone

holding on to memories

 

we live today in the never now

fighting to overcome it somehow

a constant shame to progress

the cause of our sorrows

 

we exist in a brief moment

yet we live in the expanse of time

now never changes

only our frail little mind

 

now is constantly the same

yesterday

today

and

tomorrow

it is only our future

we forever borrow

to pay for a past

we left behind.

Wow, I have always tried to express my amazement in the vastness of time and how small we all seem individually. I don't know if that was exactly what you were going for, but in a sense it came across that way to me. Well done, I envy that you could capture the essence of time and portray it in a single writing.
