The AlleywayA Poem by seren
Head down, a lonely walk
Headphones on and 'Gaslight' by Broods fills your ears The evening is cold and chilly, The narrow alleyway stretches out, dark and empty, Your weary feet almost giving up and you stop and refuse to walk down the steep pathway, But you walk anyway. Your feet are heavy, you feel your mind slowly unraveling from your body, Your heart sinks, everything is numb and cold, The alley's desolation echoing your hollow soul Indistinct faces of passersby staring at you as you try to catch a glimpse of your surroundings, The alley's shadow is swallowing you whole. Your gaze now lifts to a neon-lit environment, Your weary feet led to a bustling road Where neon lights and strangers' faces blur together, You dissolve into the crowd, Your song blends in with the human chorus, Cacophony drowns your inner voice, Your thoughts are no longer yours. © 2024 serenFeatured ReviewReviews
