Sylvie Belongs

Sylvie Belongs

A Poem by seren

Sylvie didn't belong anywhere,
She often tells me about how she belonged to everything yet nothing at all.
She belonged to the summer trees whenever she went for walks to admire nature,
She belonged to the ocean, her spirit as fluid as the waves that crashed against the shores of her existence,
She belonged to the flowers that she adores oh so much when their petals danced with the breeze and the sun painted them gold,
She belonged to everything she touched and understood with every fiber of her soul.
And when all was said and done,
She belonged to the silence that followed
and the sullen echo that lingered.
But when she's finally alone with only her thoughts to ingest,
She belonged to nothing, became nothing and fades into her withering existence.
She fades into nothing.
And she didn't belong anywhere,
For Sylvie belonged to everything but mostly nothing at all.
