The Apparent Guide

The Apparent Guide

A Poem by Serena Clara

They hold each other.
Said to Send me home?
Twisting Slyly, Subtly, Smoothly.
To Shake off the dangers prone?

But Still I'm bitten.
But their eyes only laugh and hold their own.
Im bruised, I'm Sliced, I'm Scarred.
They Surely know what's Surely unknown.

I Stand in Shock.
For it was not they who mocked me.
I'm not lost, not Small, not crazed.
It's now So clear; the horror Sound asleep.

They have given me life!
I am below a glare of light!
I felt, I grew, I understood
and put to waste, my fear and plight.

So etch them onto my Soul, I beg!
So i remember on my throne:
Forever. Forever. Forever and on.
The Snakes that lead and took me home.

This piece intreges me in a very subtle way, i love it teh way you've woven so many stories almost by accident into this piece.
The representation of of a snake through i see as signifying either a posionus love, a past crime or bad action that one as learnt from or merely a bad place or person oen has been in the placement off. It is elegant but sad to hear words ladened with a hint of faded sorrow.
You write beautifully and elegantly as always.
